SiteAdmin

Change your own website by asking for it.

Type what you want in plain English, attach a poster if you have one, and SiteAdmin makes the change. Every change runs the full test suite before it goes live, and is logged.

Watch a change ship

A volunteer asks

Here's the poster for the Christmas Fair. Can you put it on the noticeboard until the day?

SiteAdmin reads the poster

Spots the date and time, and asks whether it should go on the calendar too

Every test runs

466 passed, and only the files this volunteer may change were touched

It's live, and logged

A message comes back in the chat with a link to the site's changelog

Example request. The steps and checks are the ones SiteAdmin really runs.

What it's like to use.

No page builder to learn and no password to forget.

Sign in with an email link

Enter your email and click the link we send. Each link works once and expires after 15 minutes.

Ask in your own words

"Change Sunday's service to 10.30", "add Jane as our new treasurer", "the Friday session is cancelled this week".

Attach a poster, photo or PDF

SiteAdmin looks at it and asks sensible questions. Location data is stripped from photos before anything is saved.

Only your part of the site

A calendar volunteer can change the calendar and nothing else. That limit is checked mechanically on every change, not just requested politely.

Told when it's done

A reply comes back in the chat once it's live, linking to the entry in your site's public changelog.

Your team, your rules

You decide who can change what, person by person. Tell us when a volunteer joins or leaves and we update it the same day.

Every change, every time

Four gates between a request and your live site.

Each change is made on its own branch and pull request, so there's always a diff and an audit trail. It only goes live automatically if it clears every gate. If anything fails, it's held for a person to review, with the reason attached.

  1. Who's asking

The volunteer's permissions are looked up fresh from the roster on the server. Nothing the chat says can change them.

  2. The site's own tests

The same full suite a developer runs before pushing: accessibility, security, content, and a dependency audit.

  3. Within scope

Every changed file is checked against what this volunteer is allowed to touch.

  4. Never infrastructure

Build settings, deployment config and workflows are always held for review. No permission level can change that.

Guardrails you don't have to think about.

Rate limits and a spending cap

Per-person and site-wide daily limits, so a runaway conversation can't run up a bill.

Off-topic requests declined

Anything that isn't a website edit gets a friendly redirect and is flagged to us, never actioned.

Problems reported automatically

If something breaks, we get an issue and an email with a first diagnosis, often before you notice.

Already in use.

SiteAdmin runs today on Kington Parishes, Kington Foodbank, orangebob.uk and Mr Wright's Rules. It comes with MediaWright hosting.

Prefer to just email us? That works too. SiteAdmin is there for when you'd rather not wait, not a replacement for talking to a person.
